Thank you for your help, everyone. Mods are banning me

My post about having food stuck in my pleco's nostril has gotten me much harrassment by two of the moderators. I originally inquired about what I could do about this stuck food, and then posted a happy/relieved post about the food being disintegrated---then I get a threat to ban me by two mods.

I ...

Catfishgirl- Thank you for the advice, but he has a fierce temper and would never let me do it. I think that the food will disintegrate eventually. I certainly don't think it will kill him.
Cheers

Oh come on, its nothing that bad  . I've seen them accidentally eat large disgusting pieces of goldfish poop. Made me want to gag. A little bio-blend mini-pellets wont hurt them.
I may have to "fish" it out somehow. Any suggestions?

Food stuck in my Pleco's nostril

I have a 9" common pleco that has a piece of goldfish food stuck in its right nostril. The food looks like a miniature Hikari algae wafer, about 2 mm in circumference. I like to pour the food in over top of the pleco because it is funny how he shakes the food off. The other pleco doesnt mind this at ...

Thank you, Shane. That is excellent information.

It will be difficult for my friend to feed them vegetables, so I was wondering if there are bigger algae tabs or something similar. Thanks again :)

What to feed large Plecos? Plz help

I have a 2 "common" Plecos that are about 12" long. I usually feed them Hikari Algae Tablets, but have recently noticed that the tablets are now too small for them. They fumble them quite easy and then the big, stupid comet goldfish suck them up almost immediately :ang: . Is there a larger tablet on ...

How do common Plecos have sex?

This morning I turned on my aquarium light to see my friendly, larger pleco nuzzling my smaller, very agressive plec. It was very surprising to see since the bigger one usually avoids the smaller at all costs.
Do plecos have sex like dolphins do, writhing around? Or does the female lay eggs and ...

Thanks for the great advice Tar and Plecosaur!

I believe all plecos are special, despite if they have a grotesque appendage hanging of them (J/K!)

I will look for these plecos you mention, Plecosaur. Kind thanks again:)[/img]

Hi Stephanie!

Is KA another Thai restaurant :P ? Its amazing you tell me about the big royal pleco, because there is the exact same situation that has been going on for 6 months at our local fish store!! HE was huge and just sat in the corner. They too wanted $150! My heart bled for him. He's gone ...

Anyone Have A Friendly Pleco?

I have this 9" common pleco that will just sit and look at me with this really funny look on his face. I can even see his eyes move so he can look at me when I come over. Then he starts rasping the glass whilst continuing to look. I know he's just hungry, but I know plecos are kind of timid and don ...

I think its more or less the individual pleco in terms of its rate of respiration. I have two generic plecos and one of them does this regularly.

Perhaps you need more water agitation to increase the oxygen content.
