Unknown Loricariad

Folks,
Friend of mine picked up this fellow today, and though it looks familiar, I can't put a name on it, so I turn to y'all.

Unidentified Loricaria

Folks,
At the behest of someone else, I'm trying to pin down the species name of this whiptail catfish. The fish will reach 11 inches, according to the seller.

Thanks,
Dave

Mystery black catfish

Howdy all,
Friend of mine at another forum is looking for an ID of a black catfish with 'three glittery-gold thick lines' running vertically on the fish. Now I can ID most any catfish but that really doesn't ring a bell with me. Any ideas, folks?

Thanks guys I really appreciate the help. Only concern would be whether the 8 inch Randahls would eat the 2 or 2.5 inch neon rainbows in the wee hours of the morning.
I might just have to bite the bullet and use loaches but it'll chaff me to do so.

Aussie catfish

Hi all,
I'm in the reseach and planning stages of a 200 gallon planted tank housing two species of rainbowfish. As I like to keep fish from the same part of the world, I've been trying to find an Australian catfish suitable for this setup, preferabley a schooling species. The largest rainbows will ...

I've lived in a area here in the southeast where 1700 kids were enrolled in youth soccer, from little guys and girls to 15 and 16 years olds. And this was in a town with a population of about 5000. Every summer semi-pros from Europe would come and instruct.

Fairly soft and slightly acid is my thing, so I keep flotillas of several species of tetras and the houdinis that are Apistos, among the loricaria and coradine catfish, in my heavily planted tanks. Even though the US football club is the red-headed, left handed step children (no offense meant to those who are) of the World Cup, I still pony up to the TV at 3 a.m. to watch the Cup live.

Pity those who live in the football desert that is the US.

I keep a bunch of tanks, so I change 40 percent of the water in the freshwater tanks all day Saturday and 40 percent of the water in the marine reef tanks all day Sunday. Those with sumps are easier as I drain the sump and refill it with new water. Takes about 10 minutes.
