It's probably S. asotus, although one cannot rule out S. biwaensis because of its collection locality (Lake Biwa).

Interesting story behind that fish. Goddess' messenger... Would it be worth a try to write to them to ask for a better/bigger pic for a Cat-eLog? Or dispatch some of our Japanese members on a highly special mission
(anyone from out there reading this??) ?? I mean if that albino form is that rare... or if one has an afternoon to kill...

Seriously though, our access stats, from Japan, adjusted for tech pen, are really, really low. So, I just don't think it's read. When was the last time you responded to a thread that involved a Japanese member?
