It's probably S. asotus, although one cannot rule out S. biwaensis because of its collection locality (Lake Biwa).

Interesting story behind that fish. Goddess' messenger... Would it be worth a try to write to them to ask for a better/bigger pic for a Cat-eLog? Or dispatch some of our Japanese members on a highly special mission :) (anyone from out there reading this??) ?? I mean if that albino form is that rare... or if one has an afternoon to kill...

Apparently, either no one in Japan reads this or they think I am talking nonsense. It's a toss-up... really :)

:-)

Seriously though, our access stats, from Japan, adjusted for tech pen, are really, really low. So, I just don't think it's read. When was the last time you responded to a thread that involved a Japanese member?

Mats, perhaps I am missing something but if no one in Japan reads it, they cannot think I am talking nonsense... :))
