i rescued a syn. angelicus from a grisly fate...now im curious how well he'll recover.

he had all his fins torn off by a nasty malawi mbuna cichlid. spines and everything. the fins are beginning to grow back, but will the spines regrow too?

Se my post and the commnets under regeneration in synos...yours might be in slightly worse shape, but i am here to tell you, the regeneration is amazing. The stubs of tails are full now, after about a month. Spines are growing back. Mine are still in juvenile coloration so they were very young when I got them so the rapid and appearently complete regerneration may be related to their youth, but I think if your fish is generally healthy, you should get pretty good recovery.
