i rescued a syn. angelicus from a grisly fate...now im curious how well he'll recover.
he had all his fins torn off by a nasty malawi mbuna cichlid. spines and everything. the fins are beginning to grow back, but will the spines regrow too?
will he ever be the same?

Re: will he ever be the same?
Se my post and the commnets under regeneration in synos...yours might be in slightly worse shape, but i am here to tell you, the regeneration is amazing. The stubs of tails are full now, after about a month. Spines are growing back. Mine are still in juvenile coloration so they were very young when I got them so the rapid and appearently complete regerneration may be related to their youth, but I think if your fish is generally healthy, you should get pretty good recovery.ComesBack10fold wrote:i rescued a syn. angelicus from a grisly fate...now im curious how well he'll recover.
