I really need some help with this one.
I'm in Australia and have a pair of LDA25 (pitbull pleco), which are very rare here.
I have spawned them a number of times but have been unable to successfully raise the fry. I can keep them alive without egg sacks for a a couple days and then they all die.
I have tried micro worms, Indian almond leaf, normal wafers and powdered spirulina.
Has anyone raised these fish or similar before?
They are very different to brsitlenose I have found.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @GianniCiu222,
Welcome to PlanetCatfish!
Congratulations on the spawns. You've already passed the first hurdle, which is getting more than one spawn so you can learn how to keep them.
I haven't kept pitbulls, so I can't give you direct advice. Have you read this article? Breeding LDA25, Parotocinclus jumbo
There is also a single breeding report, relatively well detailed, which you can access here: Breeding report for Parotocinclus jumbo by Comradovich
How are you keeping the fry? In the parents' tank? In a plastic tray? A net basket?
Cheers, Eric

Re: Raising LDA25 Fry
Hi Eric,
Thank you for the response. I have read the first article you mentioned but I haven’t seen the breeding report. I will check that out and hopefully get some fry using their methods.
I’m pulling the eggs off the glass and putting them in an egg tumbler to hatch them. Then putting them in a seperate tank. It’s only 20L and from a brief skim of the breeding report, possibly too small.
Cheers,
Gianni
