Thanks to you all

I thought they were L333,but needed confirmation as their markings are different to my other L333's.I will now put them in with my others.

I now have more L333's than anything else. :)

Thanks again

Here is peckoltia L387 Image

It could quite possibly be the fish in question although the spots don't go as far down the body. The base colour seems to be correct.Which ever it is it's a beautiful pleco

Hi
I'm not sure the intesity of colouring has anything to do with their tendancy to fin nip.I agree with Shane about it been a secondary food finding mechanism,if theres no food about the next best thing is their tankmates,a belly full of fins is better than an empty stomach to them i suppose.

When ...

Less plants, how often do you change water :?:

Hi
I'm very rarely away from home for more than a day or two so don't really see the need for an automatic feeder.

20% water changes are carried out on a weekly basis.

Hi
Firstly,why star wars?
Secondly, you should really only add things designed specificly for aquaria.
Ask yourself these questions.
1)What material are they made of.(is it toxic to fish)?
2)Are they painted (are the paints/dyes toxic)?
3)How often do fish encounter Luke Skywalker et al,in their ...

Hi
Sorry to hear that.
Cory's barbels generally become infected due to dirty substrate.Once infected they will deteriorate and very rarely regenerate.

Apparently also caused due to extremely acid conditions.I found this.Paragraph 12 http://www.aqualink.com/columns/k-cory11.html

Hi!

First your fish need to have a good size ~25cm at least!

Males pocess very long interopercular odontodes going at least to the middle of the body and very thick and long odontodes on the pectoral fins...

Cheers

I believe the only way is to have a really close look at the genital papilla.Usually the males is pointed (V shape) and female rounded (U shape).

Maybe somebody knows different?

I too was freaked when i first got my L177.I didn't see it for weeks unless i moved tank decor and disturbed it.I kept thinking it's gotta be dead.

Great set up

CEfire, the artificial mangrove roots are made by Algarde.I could only find them here http://www.fishybits.co.uk/acatalog/.
in aquarium ornaments,artificial woods.
They look really cool once they are in the tank and start to get a little build up of algae on them.

I agree with the above.
Although i have L333 sharing a 55gal tank with L134 i will be moving them to seperate breeding tanks once they mature, with the hope of them breeding.
I think it is far better to let the l333 have full reign of the floorspace with no competition from others if you intend ...

Sorry i have no idea of country of origin unfortunately. They were sold to me as L243.I was a little unsure of that but got them anyway.
I too thought they looked more like L199,they are similar to the pic of L199 in DATZ.Seems to be the nearest match so far.

Glad i got them anyway :D
